Necessary and sufficient conditions for constructing
a national model of a prosperous family
The relevance of the article is due to the need for managerial influences to solve the strategically important task of increasing the birth rate and maintaining the population. However, it is impossible to achieve the expected results in the field of demographic reproduction, strengthening the institutions of family and marriage without taking into account the ideas of the population about the conditions of family well-being. The research problem is a contradiction related both to the lack of clearly formulated criteria for a prosperous family at the state level, capable of ensuring the required reproduction of the population, and to the lack of a theoretical justification for the conditions of its construction. Within the framework of existing scientific approaches, family well-being is considered fragmentarily, from the standpoint of the economic situation of the family or the socio-psychological component of well-being, and does not provide a holistic view of the model of a prosperous family that meets modern challenges. The purpose of the article is a theoretical and methodological generalization of approaches to the criteria of family well-being, their empirical verification and justification of the necessary and necessary conditions for the formation and subsequent implementation of the national model of a prosperous family. Research objectives: to analyze existing approaches to the definition of family well-being and a prosperous family; to study the opinion of the population on the relative conditions of family well-being; to determine a set of conditions necessary and sufficient for the formation of a model of a prosperous family. The research results are based on the analysis and generalization of existing theoretical developments on the definition of criteria for a prosperous family and the results of the All-Russian sociological research conducted in March – April 2025. The novelty of the research lies in the establishment of a set of necessary and sufficient conditions for the formation of a prosperous family. According to the ideas formed among Russians, the necessary conditions for a prosperous family are an officially registered marriage, common children, the possibility of both parents participating in their upbringing, self-realization of parents, and the presence of family and kinship ties. Sufficient conditions include the spouses' views on the distribution of family responsibilities in the private and public spheres, material prosperity and their own housing, decent work and wages, and safe living conditions. The implementation of modern family policy measures should meet the needs of the family and be based on the translation of the image of a prosperous family, taking into account the ideas formed among Russians.
