The importance of cultural values in understanding, perception
nd interpretation in intercultural communication
The article is devoted to the study of the role of cultural values in the formation of interethnic communication using sociological, ethnocultural and psycholinguistic approaches. The processes of formation of personal, group values and communication, in particular – the transfer and perception of information are considered and analyzed. An analysis and comparison of various theories explaining the relationship between culture, values and communication is carried out. Based on the analysis of the works of domestic and foreign researchers, the significance of values as the core of culture that determines the standards and norms of behavior of its representatives is shown, their influence on the communication process is considered. Also, communication itself is presented as a factor influencing the formation of values. The mechanism of the relationship between cultural values, transmission, perception and interpretation of information is considered in detail. The concepts of stereotypes and prejudices in intercultural communication are revealed, their influence on the negotiation process is considered. The causes of distorted mutual understanding of cultures by the parties to the dialogue are substantiated and the consequences are analyzed, ways to improve the effectiveness of dialogue through cultural mutual information and acculturation are considered. The influence of digitalization on the process of information exchange and value management is analyzed. The role of digital technologies in the formation and management of the phenomenon of post-truth is studied. The problems of the growth of subcultures and their impact on the effectiveness of intercultural communication in the world are considered.
