Family strategies of regional youth
In the conditions of modern economic and political transformation, alternative family, marriage and reproductive attitudes are beginning to be broadcast to young people. These changes are directly correlated with the rejection of traditional family values, the desire for self-realization, career growth and subsequent delayed childbearing. Such values are actively promoted as a “correct and convenient” model of behavior. How effective is such a popularization of new attitudes and how the family life strategies of young people are changing is an important issue from the standpoint of demography and national mentality. The purpose of the article is to study and analyze the family strategies of regional youth in the context of modern value transformations. The article presents the results of a sociological study conducted among the youth of the Belgorod region (the method of collecting information is a questionnaire survey). The study revealed respondents' ideas about family, marriage, children, the formation of family strategies and their relationship with other life strategies (migration and career). Trends in the change in the perception of the institution of the family in the minds of young people were identified, which are determined primarily by a more loyal attitude to non-traditional forms of marriage and family relations, a change in conservative ideas about the distribution of family roles, and the desire for various forms of self-realization outside family relations.
