Interiorization of patriotism as a spiritual and moral value of youth
n the era of digitalization: discursive dimensions

Patriotism is one of the fundamental traditional spiritual and moral values and is internalised through agents of socialisation, external conditions and factors. Today, the active involvement of the younger generation in the socio-communicative space of the digital environment is stated, where digital achievements, such as virtual platforms, social networks, etc. occupy the attention and interest of young people, mediating the formation of spiritual and moral values​ and attitudes of behavior. Contemporary sociological and interdisciplinary studies focusing specifically on digitalisation as an unconditional factor in the structure of virtual communication and the internetisation of young people form a discourse on the functional nature of digital evolution in the context of socio-communication. This discourse also considers the preservation of the spiritual and moral values of young people, which formed the basis for setting the research objective. In the presented article, an attempt was made to analyze the peculiarities of the formation of patriotism in the younger generation as a spiritual and moral value in conjunction with the scaling of digitalization. The study has led to the conclusion that digital tools play a significant role in shaping the patriotic worldview of young people. This work is based on a literature review and presents the results of scientific research by domestic researchers. It considers the peculiarities of modern youth communication, formats and technologies, and the significance of forming patriotism as an element of the younger generation's consciousness, taking into account digital temporality. It also provides data from the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (JSC VCIOM) on the patriotic sentiments of Russians (2022-2024) and analyses federal and regional practices for working with young people on patriotism. Overall, the study's findings highlight the significant and contrasting roles of digital technologies in the patriotic education of young people and the internalisation of patriotism as a spiritual and moral value.
