Practical training for students – urgent need or imitation?
The analysis of the state of the special side of the training of highly qualified personnel as an industrial practice is given. The historical path of the formation of this phenomenon in the life of universities is briefly considered. The current state of the process of including students in the acquisition of skills of professional labor activity is considered. To this end, a description is given of both official efforts to organize and conduct internships, and its actual implementation based on an analysis of the websites of 118 universities, an online survey of bachelors and masters of various universities, and expert assessments of the problems that students face along the way. It is concluded that without making significant fundamental adjustments to the organization and conduct of work experience, it is impossible to implement the planned reform of higher education.
