ANALYSIS OF ACCESSIBILITY AND QUALITY OF MEDICAL SERVICES IN THE CITY OF OREL
The article presents the results of a sociological study conducted to assess the level of satisfaction of residents of the city of Orel with the availability and quality of medical services. The authors make a theoretical review of the following basic concepts: medical service, availability of medical services, and quality of medical services. The study identifies the main criteria for studying the availability and quality of medical services. The conducted sociological research allowed to reveal a number of problems hindering the increase in the level of availability and quality of medical services to all segments of the population at the regional level. Based on the results of the sociological research, there was made a conclusion that it is necessary to organize the provision of medical services on the principle of proximity to the place of residence, place of work or training; the development of available specialized medical services on the basis of budgetary medical institutions at the expense of additional funding; the provision of benefits to citizens-beneficiaries and segments of the population with a subsistence minimum below the established level, etc.
