RELIGIOSITY AND MULTICELTURALISM IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIAL SELF-PRESENTATION OF THE REGION (ON THE EXAMPLE OF REPUBLIC OF MORDOVIA)

The article covers the social functions of post-Soviet religiosity in the aspect of its use for cultural «branding» of the region in the general context of «identity policy» in a typical «orthodox» region of Russia – Republic of Mordovia and their interaction with some other functions of these organizations in the context of the discussion on the «secularization/desecularization» problem in contemporary Russia.
