On the basis of the theoretical and factual material, the author discusses the definition of crowdsourcing and crowdsourcing project, highlights its positive aspects and determines its performance criteria. On the basis of the sociological research, the author determines the main motivational techniques used in crowdsourcing, as well as the possible means of encouragement.
