The article examines the ways to improve the state innovation policy at the regional level. The author has undertaken a social research with the aim to identify the main types of innovation strategies in the region, the scheme of interaction of business-science-state, the role of the state apparatus to increase innovative activity and creation of innovation climate in the region. Based on the study, readiness to cooperate in the field of innovation among representatives of business, science and the state administration at the regional level of Kharkiv region have been determined.
