Sociology and Management</journal-title></journal-title-group><issn pub-type="epub">2408-9338</issn></journal-meta><article-meta><article-id pub-id-type="doi">10.18413/2408-9338-2025-11-2-0-5</article-id><article-id pub-id-type="publisher-id">3782</article-id><article-categories><subj-group subj-group-type="heading"><subject>SOCIAL STRUCTURE, SOCIAL INSTITUTES AND PROCESSES</subject></subj-group></article-categories><title-group><article-title>&lt;strong&gt;The &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;dynamics&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;of &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;religiosity&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;among &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;provincial&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;students&lt;/strong&gt;</article-title><trans-title-group xml:lang="en"><trans-title>&lt;strong&gt;The &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;dynamics&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;of &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;religiosity&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;among &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;provincial&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;students&lt;/strong&gt;</trans-title></trans-title-group></title-group><contrib-group><contrib contrib-type="author"><name-alternatives><name xml:lang="ru"><surname>Bogatova</surname><given-names>Olga Anatolyevna</given-names></name><name xml:lang="en"><surname>Bogatova</surname><given-names>Olga Anatolyevna</given-names></name></name-alternatives><email>bogatovaoa@yandex.ru</email><xref ref-type="aff" rid="aff1" /></contrib><contrib contrib-type="author"><name-alternatives><name xml:lang="ru"><surname>Chujkova</surname><given-names>Olga Геннадьевна</given-names></name><name xml:lang="en"><surname>Chujkova</surname><given-names>Olga</given-names></name></name-alternatives></contrib></contrib-group><aff id="aff1"><institution>National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University</institution></aff><pub-date pub-type="epub"><year>2025</year></pub-date><volume>11</volume><issue>2</issue><fpage>0</fpage><lpage>0</lpage><self-uri content-type="pdf" xlink:href="/media/sociology/2025/2/63-84_Bogatova_Chuykova.pdf" /><abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>The&amp;nbsp;article&amp;nbsp;analyzes&amp;nbsp;the main&amp;nbsp;characteristics&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;trends&amp;nbsp;in the dynamics&amp;nbsp;of religiosity&amp;nbsp;among provincial&amp;nbsp;students&amp;nbsp;using the&amp;nbsp;example&amp;nbsp;of students&amp;nbsp;at National&amp;nbsp;Research&amp;nbsp;Mordovia&amp;nbsp;State&amp;nbsp;University.&amp;nbsp;Based&amp;nbsp;on&amp;nbsp;a comparison&amp;nbsp;of the data&amp;nbsp;from the 2024&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;2025&amp;nbsp;questionnaires, changes&amp;nbsp;in the level&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;degree&amp;nbsp;of religiosity&amp;nbsp;are characterized&amp;nbsp;according&amp;nbsp;to the main&amp;nbsp;parameters&amp;nbsp;of the multidimensional&amp;nbsp;approach&amp;nbsp;of C.&amp;nbsp;Glock&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;R.&amp;nbsp;Stark,&amp;nbsp;the subjective&amp;nbsp;significance&amp;nbsp;of religious&amp;nbsp;norms&amp;nbsp;of behavior&amp;nbsp;is assessed, and the main&amp;nbsp;trends&amp;nbsp;in&amp;nbsp;students&amp;#39; assessment&amp;nbsp;of the role&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;functions&amp;nbsp;of religion&amp;nbsp;in&amp;nbsp;modern&amp;nbsp;Russian&amp;nbsp;society&amp;nbsp;are identified.&amp;nbsp;The authors&amp;nbsp;of the article&amp;nbsp;characterize&amp;nbsp;the religiosity&amp;nbsp;of students&amp;nbsp;as a&amp;nbsp;whole&amp;nbsp;as&amp;nbsp;&amp;ldquo;fuzzy&amp;rdquo;,&amp;nbsp;privatized&amp;nbsp;and&amp;nbsp;distanced&amp;nbsp;in&amp;nbsp;relation&amp;nbsp;to&amp;nbsp;the institutional&amp;nbsp;forms&amp;nbsp;of religion&amp;nbsp;with&amp;nbsp;which&amp;nbsp;individuals&amp;nbsp;identify&amp;nbsp;themselves&amp;nbsp;on&amp;nbsp;the basis&amp;nbsp;of cultural&amp;nbsp;tradition,&amp;nbsp;and conclude&amp;nbsp;that the&amp;nbsp;identified&amp;nbsp;complex&amp;nbsp;of characteristics&amp;nbsp;of religiosity&amp;nbsp;among&amp;nbsp;students&amp;nbsp;is stable.&amp;nbsp;Despite a slight decrease in religiosity noted by researchers in other regions, religious students as a whole remain above average in terms of faith and experience, while remaining relatively low in terms of ritualistic, intellectual and behavioural dimensions (though not lower than in the region as a whole).
